I’m several days late with posting my first blog of the year and actually my first blog since I've rebranded The Curvy Express. Like you, I didn't want to cope with the idea that my vacation days were coming to an end.
Nevertheless, HAPPY FREAKIN’ NEW YEAR! We made it!
I’m so over resolutions although I’ve never been the one to set them anyway. As an entrepreneur, I’m not sure I see the new year as a new start. It's as if I’m returning to work on the things that I started a few months ago, you know?

We had that amazing DREAM BIG CurvyGirl Fashion & Beauty Conference in October that's returning this year by popular demand. Can you believe five ladies were signed to modeling agencies because of our conference?! We've received so many messages, tags, and emails of how women were educated, impressed, and pleased with the turnout. We have not had one negative word of feedback! I'm so grateful, it really makes me want to give DREAM BIG 2018 my all.
I've had a slow start on it, but I look forward to again seeing my vision come to life. It's taking time, but I am building an amazing team of people who I look forward to working with. Not to mention, Illinois just changed the law that makes it affordable to become an LLC now. New adventures on the horizon!
Initially, The Curvy Express was a fashion styling consultation business for the everyday woman. A piece of my heart still wants to do that, but not as a career. Now, we host curvy events seeking to build a curvy community in the Midwest for more opportunities in the curvy fashion and beauty industry. I find it more interesting to host events that help people and bring them together. Plus, I get excited thinking of events with new opportunities and creative ways to inspire women.
Philanthropy has always been a big thing with me since I was a child. I would give things away just because I had the heart to help people whether less fortunate or not. It drove my mother nuts, but what can I say? I dream of creating a platform like Oprah or Ellen. They make people smile and do so much good with humanity. How can you not love who they are?!
Well, my goal in 2018 is to help individuals achieve their goal at every event that we host. The Curvy Express will be the liaison to dreams being fulfilled in the Midwest.
Let the magic begin!
xoxo,
The Curvy Express
