We were all about business on this day! The women of the Curvy in Corporate workshop came out and showed out! From the deepest portion of my heart, I sincerely say, “Thank you to ALL who supported.”
The Speakers
We had a great time! As the event host, I could not have asked for better co-speakers or a better audience although, I will admit I was a little nervous. I don’t consider myself to be a “speaker,” but I like to challenge myself to new heights and it worked out beautifully. I wish I could share everything that took place, but it would have been better to experience it firsthand. We shared, learned and to be honest, everyone vibed, which is always a plus!

The Workshop
I kicked it off with the “4 Types of Business” showing the various levels of creativity with our attire in a corporate setting. Then, we moved on to some CREATIVE (my word of the day) tips and tricks that blew their mind!

Some tips included how to match colors for color blocking, mix patterns, and non-traditional ways to style a scarf. Then, we got into some fun tricks that included how to turn a dress into a top and how to wear a crop top appropriately in a corporate setting. I won the crowd when I showed how to transform your accessories from work day to happy hour by creating multiple looks with one clutch purse and some decorative scarves.
Next, Jorrie of Naturally Jorrie (@naturallyjorrie) wooed the audience with her naturally funny personality and her portion on how to be Curvy, Cute and Cheap! Jorrie says, "No matter how much money you have everyone loves a deal, Honey!" Check out this clip from her presentation.
Lastly, Fierce Faces, Rashia Williams (@shia2fierce_mua) aka Ms. Always-Come-Through-on-the-Beats came through once again with the fierce and flawless face beat! Rashia schooled us on makeup appropriation for the workplace and how to transform your look in less than 2 minutes when you’re clocking out and ready to hit the streets! As I like to call it… BEAT STREET!
In this case, our beautiful audience model whom Rashia chose at random had plans following the workshop, so this worked out perfectly for her. Rashia had her wipe the makeup clean off her face as she started from scratch snatching those eyebrows all the way to the contouring of her cheekbones and even added a set of lashes. I wish I was blessed to have those set of hands! I think our model was more excited that she was chosen, but her infectious smile and kindred spirit made us all happy for her. What a beauty! I almost had a moment there.
We appreciate you ladies for stopping by. Please leave your comments below to tell us about your experience with the workshop or if you could not make, tell us what you would have liked to experience.
Don’t forget to check out our scarf demonstrations!
